Week 8 Review

It was a bad week for my picks, but I at least stayed above .500 by going 7-6 and the season ledger now stands at 68-49.

Randy Moss's 2nd tour of duty in Minnesota is over after 4 weeks. Moss was waived by the Vikings after he waxed poetic over the New England Patriots, who traded Moss back to the Vikings 4 weeks ago, and criticized coach Brad Childress. Moss is too good to remain a free agent for very long though, and I'm sure that someone will be more than willing to pick up the remaining $3M+ on his contract.

The Jets are 5-2, but after a dismal offensive performance on Sunday against the Packers you would think that they were one of the worst teams in the league. They can't afford to take the Lions lightly next week or else the fans and media really will start to panic.

The Giants are also 5-2, but they cannot overlook next week's game under any circumstances. They travel across the country to Seattle, where they have struggled mightily in the recent past, and face a Seahawks team that is 3-0 at home. The Seahawks are terrible on the road, 1-3, and proved it last week against the Raiders in Oakland.

The Chiefs escape Buffalo, who will win one of these weeks, with a victory and now have a big game against the surprising Raiders. When is the last time that a Raiders-Chiefs game actually mattered for anything more than determining draft position?

Mike Shanahan is supposed to be smart, right? If so, then why is he benching Donovan McNabb in favor of Rex Grossman in the last two minutes of the game? McNabb is one of the most underappreciated players in the league over the last 10-15 years and it would appear that is the case now in Washington too.
