Monday Morning Quarterback - Week 3

NFL - So far in week 3 I'm a disappointing 9-6 and hopefully the Packers can knock off the Bears tonight to get me to 10-6. The Saints-Falcons game, 27-24 Falcons, was as close as expected, but a loss for me nonetheless. Leon Washington appears to be healthy again as he returned kicks for 99 and 101 yards for touchdowns in Seattle's win over San Diego.

Tennessee Titans @ New York Giants - The Giants did a great job of beating themselves as they turned the ball over 3 times, twice inside the red zone, and committed 6 personal foul penalties, which is uncharacteristic of a team coached by Tom Coughlin. So at 1-2 the Giants seem to be at a similar crossroads that the Jets were at a couple weeks ago. The good news is they're only 1 game behind first place Philadelphia (2-1) and their two losses have not come against other NFC East or NFC teams, so they are still in good shape so far for tie-breaking scenarios come playoff time.

New York Jets @ Miami Dolphins - It looked like the Jets were going to run away with this one early on, but give the Dolphins credit for making a game of it. The Jets should have little problem getting to 3-1 with a victory over Buffalo next week, and after that they still have games against Detroit, Cleveland, and another one with Buffalo so they will have a chance to fatten up and make a big playoff push.

Pittsburgh Steelers @ Tampa Bay Buccaneers - The Steelers were hoping to be 2-2 without Ben Roethlisberger. Instead, they're 3-0 after Charlie Batch dismantled the Bucs and now a matchup with Baltimore looms. Even if they lose next week they're still in good shape as they'll have 4 games left with Cleveland (twice), Carolina, and Oakland.
